Soon to be Published: Development of the Widowhood Resilience Scale

August 17, 2019 by Soaring Spirits International

The Soaring Spirits Resilience Center at Schreiner University is proud to announce the publication of the Development of the Widowhood Resilience Scale by the Omega Journal of Death and Dying.

Drawing significant contributions from the fields of psychology, sociology, medicine, anthropology, law, education, history and literature, OMEGA has emerged as the most advanced and internationally recognized forum on the subject of death and dying. It serves as a reliable guide for clinicians, social workers, and health professionals who must deal with problems in crisis management, e.g., terminal illness, fatal accidents, catastrophe, suicide and bereavement.

Publication of the article is expected in the winter of 2020. Links to the article will be housed on the the Soaring Spirits Resilience Center website.

Special thanks to Dr. Carrie West, Dr. Sam Dreeben, and Dr. Kyle Busing for their work on the development of the scale and the writing of this unique and valuable article.

We’d also like to thank every single widowed person who has participated in our surveys over the past five years. This work would not be possible without you.
